It simplifies the process of selecting product variations without creating additional items. This is particularly useful for products that come in slightly different options.

For example, retailers that offer T-shirts in a variety of sizes or colours. The attribute set would be named "Sizes" and the variations you can create would be Small, Medium, and Large. Once the "Sizes" attribute set is assigned to an individual item, you can then select the particular size when processing a sale.
