3D Secure
3D Secure (3DS) is an additional security layer for online credit and debit card transactions that helps to protect merchants and cardholders from fraudulent activity by deterring unauthorised card use.
When a cardholder completes an online transaction using Zeller’s payment page, 3DS will ask your customers to verify their identity with their issuing bank during the transaction. The bank may choose to.
-
Authorise the transaction straight away based on the information that they have or
-
Ask the cardholder to complete an additional identity check, which could come in the form of a one time passcode or similar. The cardholder will be prompted to enter this on the Zeller payment page. If they leave the page before entering the passcode, the transaction will be declined and they will need to enter their payment details again.
At Zeller, 3DS may be requested on Zeller Invoice, Xero Invoice and Pay by Link transactions.
